Welcome to
Victoria BC
Victoria is located on Vancouver Island, in beautiful British Columbia on the Pacific west coast of Canada.
Our
lovely one bedroom holiday rental suite is located in West Saanich,
only a 10-15 minute drive to downtown Victoria. We are very close to
the Pat Bay Highway (Route 17), the main route from Victoria north to
the airport and to the ferries to the BC mainland and Vancouver, so we
are easy to find and centrally located in the Greater Victoria area.
We are also close to McKenzie Avenue, a major route that connects the
University of Victoria at its eastern end to the Trans Canada Highway
to the west (we are only a few blocks from this west connection). The
Trans Canada Highway (Route 1) travels north-west up the east coast of
Vancouver Island and leads to Duncan, Chemainus, Ladysmith, Nanaimo,
Parksville, Qualicum, Courtney, Campbell River and beyond.
If you do not have your own car, there is a city bus stop only one
block away which will take you right downtown. Buses leave
approximately every 20 minutes.
If you prefer to see the
sights on foot, there are beautiful walking trails near our house. The
path at the bottom of the hill goes through Panama Flats to Wilkinson
Road. In the other direction you can walk the Colquitz Creek path to
Tillicum Mall. If you'd rather walk than shop, you can continue on
through Cuthbert Park to Admirals Road.
The Galloping Goose
Trail, an extensive hiking and biking trail built along an old railway
bed, is also very close and goes from downown all the way to Sooke on
the west coast of Vancouver Island or north to the City of Sidney.
